Vintage Fishing Lure, Picture Box & insert ( Arbogast Jitterbug ) Excellent. Thanks for looking at this vintage Arbogast Jitterbug in excellent condition made in 1942, the lip is blank, it has the earliest hook hangers that were used on plastic Jitterbugs these were only used on the early Jitterbugs made before 1947 the year Fred Arbogast passed away from a fatal hart attack, I have researched this lure and what I found out was in late 1942-1943 Arbogast because of the metal shortage first tried using thin metal lips before plastic lips but the metal lips were to thin to stamp any information on, and when he saw this wasn’t going to work switched to plastic, picture number two shows the Jitterbug book I got this information from picture number three on page 17 at the bottom says Arbogast used unmarked lips in 1942, I don’t know if anyone can say how many of these thin lip Jitterbugs are out there I’ve only seen a couple and this one is by far the best, it comes with the box I found it in, I’m not calling this a WW2 Jitterbug but it could be his first attempt, if you have any questions please let me know, I’ll be shipping this very hard to find Arbogast Jitterbug bubble wrapped and in a box for a safe delivery, I always ship first thing the next morning, and I will ship to the lower 48 states and Canada only, thanks for looking and have a great day.
